I think this is the absolutly BEST story out recently. I was amazed at how the beginning seems to tie in with the movie "The March of the Penguins".
Even though the beginning was sad my grand-daughter had a visual picture to help her understand the trials of Pengey because she had seen the movie.
When we first started we read until we got to a happier spot. After that my grand-daughter (and her mother) couldn't wait for the next chapter.
Pengey is definitely a very lovable little guy and has many lessons for young readers.
