PENGEY PENGUIN RULES!, 5 Stars
After the Author, John Burns visited our school and gave his lively and informative presentation I became even more curious about penguins but more curious about his chapter book.
I read, “Pengey’s Many Adventures” to my three children (ages 9-11), they loved it. I read it to my 34 third grade students and they loved it as well. I ended up with a classroom and home filled with kids who think they’re Pengey Penguin. This is a good thing because Pengey is so well mannered they want to copy him. I know the Pengey Influence will wear off , but right now, I’m enjoying the positive affects of Pengey on the kids.
They all thoroughly enjoyed the main character, and his many adventures. Also, there is an undercurrent of good character traits throughout the entire story. Bravo, Mr. Burns! -- July 2006
