GREAT BOOK! . . . 5 Stars
"The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin" is just the ticket to introduce your child to the chapter book and reintroduce adults to the world we left to our childhood.
This was a tough read for my 7 year old. She a good reader, but she asked for help because she felt like she couldn’t get the story right unless she understood all the words.
It’s old fashioned storytelling, sort of like, Alice in Wonderland. I was taken right in by it. Pengey struck a cord with my daughter, she was so involved with Pengey, she ended up making an igloo out of her spare pillow and putting the book in it so she could sleep with her copy.
The story is so compelling, it’s impossible to ignore. Once Pengey had me in his grip I found myself worrying about him too.
I bought the second book as soon as it came out. I can’t say enough about Pengey and his friends and adventures. BRAVO!
